Volunteering

Do you want to help benefit your local community and assist those in need?

Join our team and become a volunteer of our hospital. You will get to put a smile on our patient’s faces and will help us improve the quality of lives for thousands of people within our community.

To be eligible to become a volunteer you will require to:

  •  Complete a volunteer application form (available from hospital reception);
  •  Successfully complete full police check with pro forma letter;
  •  Sit an interview with the program coordinator;
  •  Provide proof of current driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance (if necessary); and
  •  Provide current Food Safety or Food Handling certificate (if necessary).

Once a volunteer you will assist us in:

  •  Talking and reading to residents;
  •  Participate in discussion groups;
  •  Assist with arts, crafts, games, outings, musicals, dancing, men’s groups, ladies groups, book club;
  •  Help run special events and celebration functions;
  •  Assist with exercise programs and walking groups;
  •  Assist with palliative care team;
  •  Work and assist in Op Shop;
  •  Assist with Meals on Wheels; and
  •  Provide transport to and from appointments.
