Our Centre for Community Health, situated on the corner of Inglis and Cowie Streets, Ballan, has over 20 healthcare services available to private and public patients, all operating under the one roof.
Our Centre is Community Funded, Community Built, Community Owned!
The majority of our Community Health services are free or bulk billed. A select few are fee paying and for those that are, we offer discounts for healthcare card holders, where possible.
AUDIOLOGY
Assessments and management of hearing difficulties and the hearing impaired. Free for eligible patients.
CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT
A multidisciplinary approach to the management of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and asthma.Free for eligible patients.
COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE SERVICES
Counselling, advocacy and referral for patients and their families. Free for all patients.
Available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING
Works with the community to promote health and prevent illnesses. Free for all patients.
DENTAL
Emergency and general dental care for children, adults and elderly. Fees apply.
DIETITICS
Advice and programs that help promote good health through healthy eating. Our dietician can develop modified diets and educate individuals and groups on good nutritional habits. $8 per appointment.
DISTRICT NURSING
District Nursing provides a wide variety of nursing services to maintain quality of life and independence at home. $3 per visit for pensioners.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL SUPPORT SERVICES
Referral only. Free referrals
CARDIOLAB
Provides cardiac screening. Fees apply.
EMERGENCY RELIEF
Assistance for people who are homeless or are at risk of being homeless. Free for eligible patients.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PHYSICIAN
Visiting specialist.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Assists people of all ages to maximise safety, independence and well being in their daily acidities within their environment whether that’s at home, work or in the community. Free for eligible patients.
OPTOMETRY
Free eye testing and eye health assessments. Frames and lenses available at competitive prices.
PATHOLOGY
Dorevitch Pathology provides bulk billed pathology services.
PHYSIOTHERAPY
Assists in the prevention, treatment and management of movement disorders arising from various conditions and diseases. $55 first visit. $50 additional visits. $8 per visit for healthcare card holders.
PODIATRY
Assists in the prevention, treatment and management of foot conditions and disorders. $30 per appointment. $8 per appointment for healthcare card holders.
PSYCHOLOGY
Provides counselling, casework, referral and advocacy to support people in dealing with life’s challenges, including; relationship breakdowns, family issues, stress, anxiety and depression. Free for all patients.
TRANSPORT CONNECTION
Project worker assisting the local community to improve access to transport.
WOMEN’S HEALTH CLINICS
Free pap tests, contraception options, fertility education and information on menopause, puberty, breast awareness and sexual health.
