Hospital & Acute Care

Hospital and Acute Care is the provision of medical treatments and procedures for a short term illness or health problem.

Over 350 Acute Care patients are treated in our hospital each year.

Our Hospital Acute Care Unit provides a wide number of services for patients and general medical conditions.

The ward is staffed at all times by Registered Nurses (Division 1 and 2). Some nursing staff members have additional specialist training also, to help meet specific Acute Care needs.

Post Acute Care describes the management and provision of short term planned care for patients and/or carers with more complex needs during a period of recuperation from an episode of acute illness. Our Centre for Community Health has a large number of services that can help assist post Acute Care needs.
